A rare and fine Longcase clock movement of month duration by the renowned John Miller, apprentice to Samuel Knibb in 1667 and then bound over to Joseph Knibb after Samuel’s death in 1670, he became free in 1674 and later became master to Johnathan Puller in 1679.
Clocks by John Miller are very rare, the few examples remaining of Miller's work have a marked 'Knibb' style, probable that some of the Knibb influence rubbed off on his own apprentice, Miller died in London in 1702 which would likely make this one of his last known clocks.

Five pillar movement of month duration, outside countwheel striking the hours on the original bell.
