A very early and slim caddy top longcased clock by Everard Billington of Harborough (later to be called Market Harborough)
Harborough featured in the English civil war of 1645 when the Kings army fought the Parliamentarians at nearby Naseby 
The clock is very slim with a door width of only 7 inches.
The door lock is original as are the hinges, the pendulum and suspension are original, there is a skirt to the plinth with bun feet.
The cartouche name plate is finely engraved ,and has some practice detail on the reverse, the date calendar is working and the spandrels are also original .
The dial is less than 11 inches, and there are quartered hood pillars to the rear of the hood. The clock works and strikes the hours.
Scarce literature is available for this maker, but he is supposed to have worked from around 1740.
This clock in my view is earlier than that
